Central Corridor
Dar es Salaam inland to the Great Lakes and Copperbelt approaches — performance counted in dwell as much as kilometres.
Dar es Salaam is the metronome. Dodoma, Isaka, Rusumo and the lake ports are the bars of music. The Central Corridor’s virtue is multimodality on paper; its vice is when road absorbs every failure of rail and inland water.
CCTTFA’s facilitation mandate only matters if member states publish comparable times. The House watches whether AfCFTA preferences reduce friction here or arrive as another form that still waits for a wet stamp.
Tests the House keeps asking
- Is port dwell falling without simply shifting queues inland?
- Can lake and rail modes take meaningful freight off the tarmac?
- Are landlocked members seeing tariff and transit rules as one system?
